What We Do
GHRF was founded in March 2007 by a small group of physicians and educators joining to focus our volunteer efforts and magnify our ability to affect change. Together, we have broad experience developing public health initiatives in local and international settings.
- Our diverse expertise is focused on process improvement in health intervention in the developing world.
- We are developing a process through which public health providers and communities can join to develop sustainable and culturally acceptable health programs, so that communities and donors utilize health resources and funding more efficiently.
- It is our goal and dream that this process will improve access to sustainable health care throughout the world.
We focus on projects meeting the basic health needs of populations around the world, targeting areas where health access is low and disease rates and resulting morbidity and mortality are high.
The particular goal of projects undertaken by GHRF is to view the disease or issue addressed in the context of the community as a whole, and then work in collaboration with the communities served. Therein, measures to improve health, reduce disease, increase knowledge and prevention may be understood and thus, sustainable.
