Malaria Surveillance in Uganda
GHRF is working in collaboration with researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to apply a key "outcomes" tool in the battle against Malaria in Uganda.
This tool is being utilized in the "Uganda Malaria Surveillance Project" a collaboration between UCSF, the Centers for Disease Control and the Ugandan Ministry of Health, among others.
With our guidance and the application this tool, disease statistics can be tracked and graphed almost in real time. We are working to expand this project to include some key indicators of tuberculosis and HIV.
We hope to replicate this in other African countries also developing "sentinel sites" (regional centers where clinical indicators of disease will be gathered).
