Creating sustainable, culturally appropriate improvements in health care
Our Vision
Many useful programs exist which seek to create health improvement and support sustainability, but trial and error is the main process by which interventions are made, and key elements and tools that create the basis of a working, sustainable and culturally integrated system are not clear.
Though cultures are quite different, the elements that create a successful system may provide key tools which may benefit others. We aim to gather, examine, test, and offer tools which support health systems and improve their integration in a community and thus, long term success. We provide a system of assessment, and measurement of outcomes to provide feedback of information. Our goal is to ensure programs may be culturally appropriate and result in health development which is community based and human centered. We envision a system wherein the tools of technology are available to all to support and improve care, and in the process, to support and preserve culture and community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop and provide tools and technologies supporting health delivery, access to care and reduction of illness, which work within and support community and culture. GHRF will work collaboratively with communities, providers, educators and partners in the public and private sector, to bring tools and technology to bear on specific health problems as well as discrepancies in access to care in underserved communities. We will assess outcomes and track disease trends, to assure that our efforts are attaining the expected results.
Our Focus
- Clean water and sanitation strategies
- Use of emerging technology to gather data and expand medical decision making to remote areas
- Focus on primary care and prevention of disease
- Integration of existing medical and traditional understanding to promote trust and preserve culture and indigenous knowledge
- Establishment of effective community-based provision and
prevention strategies
Our goal is to develop and implement techniques of health delivery, access to care and reduction of illness, suffering and disease, which work within and support community and culture. The well being of individuals and communities depends on a healthy symbiosis of man and the environment, and our aim is to support this where it naturally exists, and to help communities build and sustain it where it has crumbled.
We hope to help develop the tools to attain and maintain personal and community health through our initiatives and research. In all of our endeavors, our goal is to listen and learn first, and to ensure our initiatives are understood, needed and desired by the communities we aim to serve.
